Day 1 Arrive in Beijing Beijing

Begin at Tiananmen Square, the vast ceremonial heart of Beijing. Cross into the Forbidden City, the palace complex that served as the seat of imperial power for over five centuries, wandering through its grand halls and courtyards. Continue to Jingshan Park, where a short climb rewards you with a panoramic view over the golden rooftops below. Later, visit the Lama Temple, an active Tibetan Buddhist site known for its finely carved interiors, then wander around Shichahai and the nearby hutongs, where old courtyard homes and lakeside teahouses preserve a quieter side of Beijing.

Travel to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, set among forested ridges north of the city. Well-preserved and less crowded, it offers sweeping views and a chance to walk along the watchtowers at a relaxed pace. On returning to the city, stop at the Olympic Park to view the Bird's Nest and Water Cube from the outside, two iconic structures from the 2008 Games. The evening concludes with a leisurely walk along the Liangma River, where lit-up bridges and riverside bars create a relaxed atmosphere to wind down the day.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation fees are calculated from the date Aria Travel receives the written cancellation request.

If the cancellation is made between 45 and 30 days before the scheduled departure date 10% of tour price
If the cancellation is made between 29 and 15 days before the scheduled departure date 30% of tour price
If the cancellation is made between 14 and 7 days before the scheduled departure date 50% of tour price
If the cancellation is made 6 days or less before the scheduled departure date, including the departure date 100% of tour price
